Course: Managing Innovation Tensions

Course Syllabus

Module 1

Experiencing Innovation Tensions: Paradoxes are everywhere, particularly in the business environment. These opposing dualities create interdependent and persistent challenges for us as business leaders who are working to sustain our core business while creating the environment in which we can discover the future of our business. We focus, use real simulated cases, on where these paradoxes show up and how we can reframe our relationship to them.

Module 2

Shifting to Both/And Assumptions: With an emphasis on mindset, we practice engaging with paradox in a different way exploring the zones of navigating paradox by further exploring the paradox system of assumptions, boundaries, dynamics and comfort.

Module 3

Both/And Thinking in Practice: Focusing on individual decisions, interpersonal relationships and organizational leadership we create a path forward for how we will manage innovation tensions in our organizations and shift our ways of working to create (and sustain) a culture of innovation.
