A history of doing things differently.
In 1986, Henrik Ekelund looked at management consulting and saw an opportunity to do things differently. In the 80s, firms were hired to craft rigorous, well-reasoned strategies. But once the strategy was set, companies were left to execute, and theory didn’t always hold up in the real world.
Henrik believed the missing piece was simple:
People bring strategy to life. And people learn by doing.
So he founded BTS and brought business simulations to market - immersive experiences that let leadership teams run the business, test decisions, and see consequences before results were on the line. Strategy became something you could test, align around, and act on.
From our beginnings in Stockholm, BTS has grown into a global partner to the world’s leading companies. Today, under CEO Jessica Skon, we carry that founding belief into a new era, helping organizations adapt, align, and perform in the agentic era.
